“I am a subjective scientist. I explore tensions between universal values of cultural body images that have potentials to be globalized and local values that are not readable outside of their cultures and languages.” Leejin Kim is an interdisciplinary artist/researcher working on new media art and visual & cultural studies. Her works have been exhibited in New York, London, Philadelphia, Richmond, and Seoul, Korea. “1956-1957 Korea,” the recent exhibition curated by Leejin, was introduced by the press, including KBS News and Lonely Planet Magazine Korea. She has taught art and interdisciplinary courses at Sangmyung University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Yonsei University. She now works as an art director at CICA Museum.
